Zamduar College is located in Saraibil, a remote area under Gossaigaon Sub-division of Kokrajhar District of BTR which is just 16 km away from the international border of Bhutan. It was established keeping in mind to help the economically, politically & socially backward section of the society living in the area to have access to higher education as no other colleges within the radius of approximately 29 kms. The Higher Secondary course was established in the year 2000 by local enthusiastic people and later, after a long discussion on the requirements and the necessity, the Governing Body of the College has decided and introduced the BA course too, in 2008. The BA course of the college was first provisionally affiliated under Gauhati University till 2014-15 and then later got provisionally affiliation under Bodoland University, Kokrajhar, with Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). The college is situated in a very calm and silent zone surrounded by green trees and beautiful scene of the nature. The college has tree groves of about almost 50 bighas in the east, lying beside the river, Janali. attributed by sluice gate in the North and in the south, a PWD road to Kachugaon in front of the entrance gate with less inconveniences of communication facility. Presently, the college is offering the stream of Arts only.

The aim of the college is to impart knowledge of higher education in the society. The majority of the households from the society belongs to low income groups and are not able to get access to the distant colleges. The establishment of the college has fulfilled the dreams of getting higher education of the people. It acts as the last resort for the people of the area to have access to higher education. The college has young faculty members with up-to date knowledge in their respective disciplines who always attempts to fulfil the requirements of the students for their benefits.
